Pianist and Organist | Conductor
Graphic and Photo Artist
Educator | Community Leader

Brett T. Hosterman is a life-long resident of the Susquehanna Valley, where, from a young age he developed interests in both the musical and visual arts.
Brett holds a B.A in Music Education from Susquehanna University with an emphasis in Organ Performance and a Masters of Music in Wind Conducting from Messiah University. He served ten years as the Director of Instrumental Music for the Milton Area School District. During this time, Brett was active in the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA), serving in various district and state level roles including District 8 President. He is an alumni member of Phi Mu Alpha professional music fraternity and an active member of Phi Beta Mu, the
International Bandmasters Fraternity. In 2011, Hosterman founded the Milton Area Community Band, bringing a new musical experience to the Milton community, while providing a quality musical opportunity for amateur and professional musicians alike.
While the first half of Brett’s career focused only on music, he found himself starving to fulfil his other artistic passions. In 2015 he left the classroom to explore and deepen his skills in photography and graphic design, leading to the creation of his own business, Hosterman Creative, a business that has ultimately allowed Brett’s artistic and musical passions to happily co-exist.
Hosterman remains an active educator as an adjunct professor at Susquehanna University, teaching courses in Ear Training, Orchestration, Applied Organ Lessons and directing the Stadium Band. He is also the organist and music director at First Baptist Church of Lewisburg, Pennsylvania, where he began the Ruth L. Blankenship Concert Series. An active community member, Hosterman is a proud Rotarian, a Mifflinburg Christkindl Market board member, and former president and current vice-president of the Board of Education for the Milton Area School District. He continues to serve as conductor of the Milton Area Community Band, accompanist for the Buffalo Valley Singers, and music director, pianist and/or orchestra conductor for musical theatre productions across the valley.
